As the healthcare industry rapidly transitioned to digital information management, the client recognized a critical need for thought leadership and collaboration to address evolving policies, standards, and best practices. The challenge was to unite top HIM professionals and guide the industry through transformative change—particularly as new regulations, technologies, and data demands outpaced existing frameworks.

Services Provided

As lead marketer and consultant, I spearheaded the client’s efforts to position themselves at the forefront of HIM innovation. My responsibilities included coordinating and facilitating the HIM Innovation Community—a group of top HIM professionals from 30 leading healthcare organizations. I managed all aspects of community engagement, including quarterly meetings, interactive webinars, and the capture and synthesis of key insights. My role also extended to securing the client’s sponsorship and presence at the HIMSS Annual Conference, managing event logistics, driving public relations efforts, and authoring two industry-defining white papers in collaboration with renowned HIM experts.

To maximize impact, I organized and facilitated quarterly meetings and webinar sessions, ensuring robust participation and meaningful dialogue among community members. I captured and distilled feedback and insights from these sessions, which informed the development of two pivotal white papers:​

  1. “Health Information Management: The HIM Industry’s Transformative Journey to
    Enterprise Information Management”

     

  2. “Health Information Management: Guiding Principles and a Governance Framework
    for a Digital Age”

I also managed the client’s sponsorship and booth at the HIMSS 2013 Annual Conference, overseeing all event logistics and ensuring high visibility for the HIM Innovation Community. My public relations efforts amplified the reach of the white papers and the community’s work, establishing the client as a thought leader in the HIM space.

The HIM Innovation Community, under the client’s sponsorship and Krista's marketing leadership, became a hub for industry collaboration and knowledge-sharing. The white papers, authored in partnership with Linda L. Kloss and other HIM leaders, set new standards for information management and governance in healthcare.
